The People for Animal Wellbeing began in 1955 as a volunteer run organization. Currently, they are the largest single-site animal shelter in Atlantic Canada. In the years since then, they have evolved from an animal shelter into a community welfare organization. They are dedicated to providing the highest quality of care for the animals in our community, and acting as a leader in the animal welfare sector.
